Origins Spot Remover Gel vs Mario Badescu Drying Lotion – Acne Prone Skin

Hi everyone!

I hope you have had an amazing week so far.

I wanted to compare my spot treatments that I’ve been using as I’ve noticed a difference between the two, and I think it’ll be nice to compare and write my opinions on both products.

Let me know what you think in the comments below! And let me know what your skincare secrets are šŸ™Š

ā€¢ā€¢ MARIO BADESCU ā€¢ā€¢

If you’ve ever read other skincare reviews you know Mario Badescu is my favourite product to use! I’m just in love.

I’ve been using this spot treatment for 7 months now, here are my thoughts:

  • Instantly effective
  • Product lasts such a long time
  • You’re able to see where the product is placed
  • Affordable

  • Time Consuming
  • You cannot shake the bottle as the pink clay at the bottom is what makes this product so effective
  • Potent smell can be annoying
  • Can sting on spots

Instant results the next day after applying to a pimple. It’s either reduced or even more excitingly, the spot is completely gone! I think this product has been amazing and so effective in my skin care routine.

ā€¢ā€¢ ORIGINS ā€¢ā€¢

So I’ve always seen origins being advertised on Facebook and it does look like a good brand. I decided to go through their products and I decided to give this a try.

I’ve used this for two months now, so I feel like I’ve gave the product a fair chance.

Here are my thoughts:

  • Very quick to put on
  • Dries quickly
  • Does not sting on spots
  • Your skin feels so smooth after using this
  • Can travel and use instantly
  • Treats smaller spots effectively

  • Small product which isn’t good if you suffer from consistent acne
  • Does not give you over night results in comparison to the Mario Badescu product.

I normally apply this everywhere on my face and after using this my skin instantly feels soft, no one would know I was wearing a spot treatment. It does make my skin soft but I’ve not seen drastic changes to my acne.

Overall I love how origins is so much quicker to apply onto all the skin and you’re reassured that you have covered all of your skin. However, I hate how small the bottle is. Okay little does go a long way but if you’re paying that price for a spot treatment i do think you should be entitled to move product.

The Mario Badescu Drying lotion is very long winded to apply and it can be a little messy. Also the strong smell of the product can be overwhelming. BUT I have to honestly say, the Drying lotion is SO effective of getting rid of a spot instantly it’s unbelievable. Yes it definitely time consuming but if you need a spot gone by the next day or at least reduced, the Drying lotion will ensure this!

A bottle of Drying lotion compared to the gel treatment has lasted me 4 months, and I suffer with acne. The gel has only just about lasted me a month.

I have to say because of the length and effectiveness of the product, I will say that Mario Badescu wins overall if you want a quick and fast result.

If you barely suffer from acne, and if you suffer with a break out here and there, origins is still effective but I haven’t seen over night results in comparison to the Mario Badescu.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this review, let me know in the comments what your favourite skin care product is, I’d love to try some new products!

Lots of love,

Louise oxoxo
